We have been here a few times and can’t get enough! The service is always fast and they have great specials. The calamari is SO GOOD but the mac and cheese is even better.. I would like, swim… in the mac and cheese i love it so much. the portion sizes are smaller so be aware of that when ordering and get a few things – whatever you get, you will love. It’s within walking distance of our place and we love it.

Casa D’Angelo

Terrance from Port Saint Lucie, FL talks about his eating experience at Casa D’Angelo. He begins by saying, “Week Night Dining. Since this was not my visit dining experience at Casa D’Angelo, I feel that this review is honest and genuine. I took two of my best friends to the restaurant as they had never been there. Our server,”ABA” was simply spectacular.” Terrance goes on to say, “She did not leave a stone un-turned in regard to the presentation of the menu and the dinner specials. If there was some items that we did not understand, she took her time and explained everything. Once our food came, it was fantastic, as usual. The chef at this restaurant will do anything within reason to make your dining experience simply wonderful. The restaurant is perfect for special occasions as well as anytime dining experience.” He finishes, “Thank you to the staff for a truly great time. My friends and I will be back.

Piccolo Ristorante
2826 E Commercial Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308-4206
Type of food:Italian, Mediterranean, Gluten Free Options
Website: NONE

This is a longish review from Sonia W, but seems to go into some detail. “BEST restaurant I’ve been to! I travel all around the world on business, and I have to say Piccolo Ristorante is the best restaurant I’ve been to.

Sonia goes onto say, “I’ve been to Piccolo Ristorante more than a few times now, and each time I go – I am certain they will be better than the last. The first time I went there, it was pure perfection! I go back – hoping for the same authentic, delicious, delicate, boutique, exquisite experience as the first time – which has never happened (how many times have you gone somewhere that impressed you the first time, and never lived up to the first time?) and as unbelievable as it still is to me, they outdo themselves. My second time there was better than the first, my third time was better than the second, my fourth time…no way they can keep beating themselves…well, they did – and they do!

The chef makes such food that I could only dream of making myself or even tasting together! It is true art and a delight for all the senses!

I have never written a review before, but time after time, Piccolo Ristorante impresses my family and me. The service, the attention to detail, the delight of the food, the ambiance, all of it. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! But beware, only the most authentic of palates will truly understand the authenticity and true gem that is Piccolo! No fake food heated in a microwave here, and no generic everyday food either! The menu is a floating menu, and I absolutely LOVE how the menu changes. It just keeps getting better and better!

Sonia, finshes by saying, “I cannot wait to go back and see what Chef and staff have in store for us next time!!!

The 10 Best Restaurants in Fort Lauderdale

You’ve had a hard day at work, you don’t fancy cooking but you can’t decide where to go to get some food. We hope that we have the answers for you. Below are a list of the top 10 restaurants in Fort Lauderdale – going by the number of reviews.

Premiere Bar – 3110 Belmar St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304-4103
Here are the thoughts and review from a customer who went to the Premiere Bar, “The Premiere Bar has a small selection of beer and wine and the menu is has narrowed down to the tasting Argentinian foods. The Premiere Bar has not any indoor table, just a bar. There is a large picnic table on the outside area adjacent to the pool, where people gather and share a conversation.” They go on to say, “I have been to many Bar & Restaurants but non like the Premiere, this place is unique in its own way and things are done differently here. I like it. ”

Laspada’s Hoagies – 1495 SE 17th St Ste D, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316-1728
According to one customer “We went to Laspada’s for lunch recently. It was mid day so there was a line which was expected. The line does move very fast. The staff is very entertaining when your watching them prepare the subs. Sort of choreographed, you will have to go in to see what I mean. We got the Monster sub and OMG it was so much food. Great food for a great price and a little entertainment while you wait.”

Dolce Salato Pizza & Gelato – 2406 Wilton Dr, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33305-1251
A happy dinner said “I needed a place close to a friend’s house and ours to meet over lunch. Parking was next door at the Plaza or street meters. The pizza was thinking crust and crisp. Sauce seems home made and very flavourful. Beer was local craft ( try the IPA) or Italian beer. I would definitely come again. Worth the 15 minute drive.”

La Dolce Vita – 3331 NE 33rd St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308-7148
This review of La Dolce Vita is from a few months ago and they say “Number 4 on TripAdvisor so it better be good, right? Not a disappointment at all. The place has a real Italian vibe–including our server who was Italian–and the Italian Movie posters on the walls. Our server was great at making recommendations–especially for the wine. The meal was served at the perfect pace and the appetizers and main courses were filling and delicious. The dessert was a chocolate-encrusted pistachio ice cream which was the perfect end to the meal. A great meal!”

Gilbert’s 17th Street Grill – 1821 Cordova Rd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316-2198
According to this review, this is a great place to eat that is also near the airport, “Three great burgers with creative toppings done to perfection. We were in a hurry to get to the airport and we figured a burger was a good option. We were not disappointed!” They continue saying, “We were greeted by the owner who explained the menu options and the grade of beef used. The burgers came exactly as we ordered them, down to the double crispy bacon!! Portions were good size and sides ample and delicious!”

Wild Sea – 620 E Las Olas Blvd, Riverside Hotel, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301-2235
A Wild Sea customer had to say this about their experience, “We stopped in for a drink while spending the day shopping on Las Olas. We had such a great time visiting with Jerry at the bar that we decided to come back for dinner. We were surprised to see he was working at night, and decided just to have dinner at the bar instead of the table outside we had reserved. We had such a memorable time with Jerry and Hannah, and the food was fabulous. Grilled Octopus, and Hog Snapper were to die for!! We eat out several times a week all throughout South Florida, and this is our new favorite restaurant.”

Canyon Southwest Cafe – 1818 E Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304-3040
“If you like to try new things, try the famous Prickly Pear Margarita. Whoda thunk it , right? The room is small and cozy with a few bar seats, so go early. The Mac and cheese and all apps are GREAT! Only place that I order these two. Full bar and the menu will give you what ever your taste is. Plenty of free parking in the Gateway shopping center a few steps away , or a small lot behind it. This is one place that you will return to and pass on the news to your friends.”

Casa D’Angelo – 1201 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33304
Lenny from Montreal, Canada, passes on his view of his experience at Casa D’Angelo, “We reserved outdoors on a great evening as the inside is very loud and cold. Our waiter was an old pro. We all ended up ordering his specials described so magnificently. THe classic Osso Buco was fabulous as was
Various fish dishes for the ladies. We even had delicious deserts and capacino which is compulsory. So we can’t wait to visit their Boca Raton location soon”

Chima Steakhouse – 2400 E Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301-1582
The following review comes from Gammish of Douth Florida. Gammish says about Chima Steakhouse, “Best churrascaria in South Florida! Classy setup for both carnivores and vegetarians. Yes, you read that correctly! The salad bar is awesome! If you don’t partake of the meats, you will eat a huge meal on a budget. Then you can enjoy the caipirinhas – Brazil’s national drink (like a margarita but better)!” Gammish goes on, “If you are a meat eater, then you will be in heaven. The advise is to hold out and eat patiently as they will serve up sausages and lesser quality meats at first. Hold on as you will take off with great steaks! If you like chicken hearts, then you will get those too – tasty! Service is excellent from valet to host to waiting. Go starving, save room, and roll out the door home. This is the best in South Florida.”

Greek Islands Taverna – 3300 N Ocean Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308-7119
Ove from Pompano Beach, Florida, says this about Greek Islands Taverna, “Great Food, authentic Greek experience. Family of 4, grown up kids had a delicious food and service experience at the taverna. We all had typically Greek food. To this we enjoyed a great Italian wine. We love this place!”
